The World of Virtual Walking 

Exercising with friends is proven to provide motivation and reinforcement to help you stick with your fitness goals. But with walking groups and group fitness classes around the world on hold, a new kind of exercise is gaining traction: virtual walking. You may be walking alone, but you can still feel as if you’re part of a larger group. Here are some tips to virtual walking with long-distance friends. 

1.       Go for a walk at exactly the same time as your friends - but on your own. 

2.       Create a What's App Group or Facebook Messenger Chat where you can post photos and chat with your walking group. 

3.       Call your friends while you walk - via phone or video chat. 

4.       Go for a walk on your own, then call your friends afterwards while you have a hot drink together. 

5.       Start a challenge among your friends to walk for 30 minutes or do 100 step-ups every day!
