Terms & Conditions of Entry
This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. You are providing your information to the National Heart Foundation of Australia ABN 98 008 419 761 (Heart Foundation) and not to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. By participating in this promotion, you agree to a complete release of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram from any claims. Participation in this promotion is subject to the 2019 HFW Photo Competition Details of Participation.
Any entrant found to be creating multiple social media accounts (e.g. multiple Twitter accounts) in order to submit more entries will be disqualified.
Details of Participation
Information on how to enter forms part of these Details of Participation and entry is deemed as acceptance of them. No purchase is necessary to enter the contest or redeem prizes. Contest commences on Tuesday 11 June 2019 and entries close at 5pm AEST on Friday 12 July 2019. Entries not received by that date or not completed in accordance with the Details of Participation will not be eligible to win.
13 photos will be selected. Each winning photographer will receive a $100 voucher for the Heart Foundation Online Shop. Total prize pool is valued at $1,300. If any prize is unavailable, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute another item for the prize, in its sole discretion, of equal or higher value. All prize values are correct at the time of printing. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash unless otherwise indicated.
Who can enter?
Contest is open to all registered members of the Heart Foundation Walking program in all States and
Territories of Australia. The photographer must be a registered member of the Heart Foundation Walking program and cannot be a professional photographer. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
How to enter
Contest can be entered by one of two ways:
- Completing the Heart Foundation Walking Photo Competition entry form available at
http://walking.heartfoundation.org.au/news-events/current-promotions/ during the period of the competition and returning the entry form and photograph via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
A valid entry must:
- have a fully completed entry form, including a description of the image in 25 words or less
- ensure each person featured in the image is a registered Heart Foundation Walking participant and has agreed to their image being taken for the purposes of this competition
- submit the photograph as a jpeg file of at least 500KB and in landscape format.
Submit your photo via social media. On Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using the hashtags #justwalkit and #HFWphotocomp19.
If you enter via social media, the Heart Foundation will only be in touch should you be selected as a winner. You will then be required to submit the winning photograph as a jpeg file of at least 500KB and in landscape format and complete the entry form.
This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners. Entries will be judged based on creative merit, uniqueness and inspirational qualities by a panel of judges with the top 13 entries receiving a prize. The judges’ decision is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into. The photos will be published in the 2019 Heart Foundation Walking calendar. One photo will be selected for the front cover, and each calendar month will feature a different photo (13 in total). The placement of the photos in the calendar is at the discretion of the Promoter and the calendar designer. The photos may require cropping. Neither the Promoter nor any of their agencies are responsible for lost, late, damaged, misdirected, incomplete or ineligible entries. Judging will take place between Wednesday 17 and Wednesday 24 July 2019.
Winners will be notified by phone or email where possible on or before Monday 29 July 2019.
The winners' names will be published at walking.heartfoundation.org.au on or before Friday 2 August 2019 and also appear in the September Heart Foundation Walking e-newsletter 2019.
No hard copies of photos are accepted. All entries, by whatever method, submitted become the property of the Promoter. Entries will not be returned to any entrant. As a condition of entering this promotion, each entrant agrees to assign all of their rights, title and interest (including copyright) in and to their entry to the Promoter. The Promoter is entitled to use any entry for any purposes at its discretion, including using the entry for future promotional and publicity purposes. Entrants to this competition assign all intellectual property rights in the entry to the Promoter and indemnify the Promoter in respect of any infringement or alleged infringement of the intellectual property rights (including copyright) of any person, arising out of the Promoter’s use of the entry. Entrants consent to any act or omission of the Promoter that might otherwise breach the Entrant’s moral rights in the entry.

We may contact you in the future for the promotion of heart health messages and programs, research, fundraising purposes and invitations to events. If you attend our events you may be photographed or filmed and images &/or audio may be used in various mediums to promote the Heart Foundation. Please tell event staff if you do not wish to be photographed or filmed. Personal details may be provided to third parties where required by law or for the purpose of facilitating services contracted by us, in so doing your personal information may be disclosed to overseas recipients. Further information is available in our Privacy Notice or on request. Communications from us may include mail, email, social media, SMS or telephone contact and may also include messages on behalf of event sponsors and other third parties. By providing your information to us you agree that you have provided your indefinite consent to this contact. You may withdraw consent at any time though in doing so we may not be able to provide you with services requested. The Heart Foundation will not disclose your information to any third party for their marketing purposes.
